Halloween ...

Well, it is clearly going to be entirely too cold for my Catholic School Girl idea, so I have had to come up with some others. What I have so far is a new set of fangs (the kind that are tooth caps) and a mask base.

I want to make some sort of Mardi Gras/Masquerade style of mask on a stick. Mainly because I have always wanted one, and also because it will let me be a little less grandious with my make-up this year (I am half hoping to avoid the fake blood if I can ... just so that it won't stain my clothes.

The fangs are kind of cool (I am wearing them now). They kind of make me lisp, and I think I am going to have to get a tube of that whitening toothpaste. Eep!

We are going to be outside, so I am gonna need to dress warmly. I haven't decided what to wear, and I haven't really decided on what I want my mask to look like yet, but I think I am off to a good start.

I also got out the Halloween decorations at last. I have decided that I am not going to polergist myself with this whole ghost thing. I will figure it out, and do what I need to.

Literally, even. I bought a new bra the other day TMI alert ... unless you want to hear about my bewbies )

I got a haircut last week. It was meant to be a trim with some added long layers, but it ended up with my losing about 6 inches of my hair, and the hairdresser getting no tip. :P I was (and still am) mildly pissy about her taking off twice as much as I asked her to, but everyone around me assures me that I am very cute, and it isn't so bad because in a few weeks it will be the length I want it to be anyway.

I am trying to decide on what I am going to do for my winter hair change. I would like to try the two-toned thing, with dark brown or black for the under-colour, and refreshing the red on top (I am very attached to my cute blond highlights, and don't really want to lose them).

I have bought a couple of short story magazines. The college just down the street from my house publishes one of their own and surprisingly, it pays the best of the Canadian ones I have found so far (up to $500). I have decided that I want to try and get back into the short story thing.

I still have some of my novel to work on (and NaNoWriMo is coming up), but I think I want to get some of the other stories out of my head without guilt. If I can start to make some money writing, that would be great, and it would be something to help bring in some income when I go back to school next year (aside from my job, of course).

Today, I am going to finish reading my book, and I am going to make some homemade soups (more and more I slip into the Kitchen Witch thing ... I kind of like it ... scratch that, I love it!), and I am going to make some mocha because I am craving chocolate in a bad way! ;)

I also have to get my Halloween decorations out, Cut for weird ramblings so you can skip over it )

Well, that wasn't all that much lighter, was it? Oh well. Blame it on the weather ;) Grey clouds make me think weird things. I love them.

Happy Weekend, folks.

Why is it that on the eve of all of my latest planned spells do I wake up sick as a dog? I finally have everything that I need and I am ready to go! Or I would be if my head didn't feel like a brick and I had that ability to take a deep breath. Dammit!

Now, I have to wait until I am feeling better. I was kind of hoping to get this whole thing taken care of ... you know, get some answers and make whatever adjustments are needed or just get back into the regular swing of things. Perhaps that is hoping for too much. I have this sneaking fear that this will only be the beginning and things are about to get weirder and scarier from here.

On another, more mundane note, I think my cat has a cold too. He has been sneezing all over the place the last few days (specifically in my face so that I don't miss it). I am a little worried about him. I didn't know that cats could get colds, and I really don't know what I should do (if anything).

On the plus side, feeling this crappy has allowed me to get some knitting done. I stole [livejournal.com profile] pendamuse's idea and made some dark crimson Opera Gloves and laced them with black ribbon. I love them! They were so fast! Now I am thinking of making myself a new toque. Or a Patchwork blanket ... I do have a lot of scrap yarn.

I promised to teach my brother's girlfriend how to knit, so I am gonna have to find something fun and easy for her to start with too.

Anyway, that is the news (and whining) from me. Enjoy your regularly scheduled day.
