So far I have looked at Typepad (owned by 6A, so that kind of defeats the purpose), Greatest Journal and Blogger (which I am beginning to believe is the same thing as Blogspot). So far, Blogger is ahead. I like the style, I like the features ... I need to investigate more on if they have a linking page (like a FList), but so far they look pretty good.

I do still have Xanga to look into, and I want to try and dig up a few others.

Also, I LOVE LJArchive! That is a way cool program. I don't know why I didn't use it before. I am thinking I might try that one that converts your journal into a pdf, as well, though. I have started thinking that I might like a hard copy of my journal one day. Ingrained distrust of computers, I guess.

That is about it for now. I am done reporting on the drama at PC. I am trying to disconnect myself into not caring. I think I might make one last thread there to suggest that if they want to salvage the place, then they are going to have to go back to old style forum running. I doubt it will be well received. I guess it depends on how badly they want to hang on to the place.

On days like today, when it is summery and gorgeous, I find it really hard to give a damn.

ETA - LJ saving programs are LJArchive and LJBook

Do not read PC while at work.  People look at you funny when you start to bash your head against the desk.

Can they not go five freakin' minutes without causing a scene?  Is it now a campaign to get rid of the Witchy folk?  Do Mari and IG feel that since IG can't be staff that they have to become trolls?

Anyone suppose that they will be treated as trolls for this latest one?

*shakes head*

I almost prefer to read snarky emails from pissed off customers.

It turns out that the particular post IG was referencing was Flocked.  Time for a friends purge, it would seem.  I will say it here and now and in the open so there is no mistake.  If you have only recently added me within the last 3 months, you can remind me how we know each other.  If I don't recognize you, you get cut.

I make no apologies.  If someone can't be trusted to keep even the most base of confidence, then they can go back to reading from the outside.

Oh, I love it! Illgrace thinks that she has caught me with my hand in the cookie jar! ROFL That's rich. For those interested in the continuing drama that is PC

Aww, how cute. No one told her that her beliefs didn't count. I love how she makes stuff up like that and then tries to twist what did happen to be someone else's fault.

And this part goes out to IG personally -

Hon, if I gave a damn that you read my LJ, I would have locked these posts. The fact that I leave them mostly open is to show you how little your opinion means to me. I'm not hiding anything, I am just not causing more train wrecks for your amusement. Get over yourself.

The Canucks were knocked out of the playoffs tonight, and the Negatories have made another 3 point reduction. No more peas. It's all over Sad Woe to the world.

The Positivoes have fallen off in their vigilance and the Negatories have slapped back with an amazing 13 point reduction!  Oh, woe is the world!!  The whirlled peas have been stomped under the muddy boot of oppressive two-facedness!!!  Are we all doomed to a world where no one may speak their mind without people trashing them behind their backs???  Teh HORROR!

ETA - I love how this happens even when I am not there for a few days.  The impression of my presence is enough to rally the troops against me!  Mwahahaha!

Positivoes are already up by 6 this morning! Could that really be whirled peas behind the ice cream man??

War Update

Well, the Positivoes have made some good advances today.  But the Negatories are not so easily thwarted.  They were fighting back hard this afternoon and have regained some lost ground.  It isn't a pretty sight, but casualties are at a minimum.  Perhaps peace is on the horizon??  Nope, that was just the ice cream man. :P

Someone is leaning on my karma button again!  Within the last two days it must have changed by at least 10 points.  Down two ... down one more ... up three ... up two more ... down two more ... up one ... down one ...

It's a KARMA WAR!!!  See who can change Phae's karma the most!  Who will win??  The Pozitivoes or the Negatories????  Find out tonight on HBO pay-per-view!!  Well, maybe not on pay-per-view, but I would love to see them impliment something that makes you leave a comment for the person you are karma tapping (like every other forum with karma has).

Then it could escalate to a PM snit fit!!  Oh, yeah!  And you just know I would post all negatory comments here open filter for all and sundry to see.

Sorry Negatories, you are not going to wreck my Saturday with your pathetic teenage-styled drama ... I work with teens, I am immune :P

As many of you know, PW is sinking again, and I am not entirely certain that I am going to make the effort to save it.  Most have jumped ship, and those who remain are infrequent posters at best (except of course for the ever verbous LadyK).

And I am sure that most of  you have seen me complain about PC, which has become and will continue to become nothing at all like I wanted it to be (already it has failed to provide a place where Mysteries can be discussed without someone or other comparing those trads to dangerous and useless cults).  Honestly, and without any sour grapes, I just don't think that there is enough in common between the creators/maintainers' vision and mine to make it a place where I could feel at home.

This makes me long for TT.  I miss it.  I miss everyone who was there, and I miss the Witch-focussed conversations that we had.  I was thinking a bit about the idea that was tossed around the first time I was bucking at the core concepts of PC - creating my own forum.  I have some time on my hands, and I could create a place that could strive to fill the hole TT left in me.

I was even thinking of names (names help to cement concepts for me), and what sort of tribute I could make to TT.  I came up with Wickets.  Simple word smooshing.  I looked it up, just to make sure that there weren't any meanings that I didn't want associated with the site (I knew about wickets in cricket and croquet), and I found this: A small door or gate, especially one built into or near a larger one.

I think that is about the perfect image for what I am going for here (we all remember what the front page image of TT was ... Wickets made me think of This).  I will have to do some research on what I will need in the way of software and hosting, but I think that Wickets has already had the first breath of life breathed into it.  I am excited to see what this brainchild will become.
