or a fiend, or whatever blogs ;)

I've still got a bit of catching up to do with the PBP, but I'm on that.  WP says that my Wheel of the Year page has been getting a lot of visits lately.  I think that I ought to work on that some more.  At least do December.  I meant to add it to my regularly scheduled postings, but I got lazy, and then I forgot.

The Wheel is daunting to me.  The pages for my blog will basically be a compilation of what I know, believe and practise.  That's a lot of work.  People write whole books on it.  And I'm putting it all on a blog.

Or, I suppose I could put intros on the blog pages and then put the rest together into book format.  I always figured if I ever wrote a Pagan book it would be either about entertaining or about the Wheel.  It would be cool to be a published author.  And a few extra bucks now and then can't hurt, right?

We'll see.  My spare time is not a constant thing.  Neither is my level of productivity.  I guess I'll start one holiday post and see where it goes from there.
What is The Pagan Blog Project?
(The Short Answer)
This project is a way to spend a full year dedicating time each week very specifically to studying, reflecting, andsharing your spiritual and magickal path.    The project consists of a single blog post each week posted on yourblog each Friday for the year of 2012 that will involve a topic that relates to Paganism, Witchcraft, magick, spirituality, and so on.   You can use your posts to share your views on a topic, to talk about your own personalexperiences, or to act as a catalyst to research a subject that you may not know much about and then share whatyou learn and how you feel about that.   Each week there is a specific prompt for you to work with in writing yourpost, a prompt that will focus on a letter of the alphabet each week providing you a framework for your writing aswell as a common thread for all participants to share in.

I think I'm going to take a shot at participating in this.  Between finding a new place, moving our stuff from storage, unpacking, baby, etc, I doubt I'll be able to keep up with one detailed post a week, but I think I can probably do one every two weeks.  That means one for each letter of the alphabet.  I think I can manage that much.

I'm already behind having just discovered this project yesterday, but as it is -18 outside right now, I don't expect I will be going anywhere.  Time to put on a pot of coffee and get to plotting.  I think I'll be posting on Pagan Perspectives (paganperspectives.wordpress.com), I'll be directing the FB group traffic there.  I haven't decided if I will be X-posting or not.

So, first up, A - Ancestors.  May take some time to get this one into words.

Holidays are difficult when you are on your own.  Sabbats are often the time I wish that I had a coven to share my celebrations with.  Or even a big family.

My family is small, and we all work full time.  There are no kids, so we seem to just get together when we can.  It tends to leave a hole.  Not just at the Sabbats, but on secular holidays as well.

And being sick doesn't help things either.  I feel like I am being lazy by sleeping and only working on things that don't require me to move from the couch.  Though, one of the reasons I hate being sick in the first place is that it makes me feel like I am incredibly lazy and missing out on other things I could be doing.

It occurs to me now that this might be part of the reason that I end up sick so often.

But, I digress.  This post isn't a pity party.  For some reason, my mind just won't let me be in a bad mood for too long (this has issues all its own), and the general feeling of a cloudy, cool, barely well Beltane weekend has inspired me.  I have this little voice that says, 'Well, if you don't like it, fix it.'

So, I'm going to.  Today, while I wait for WD to wake up and take me out to do my errands, I am going to spend my time switching between cleaning, and writing out list of Beltane celebrations, poems, crafts, foods, etc for my BOS.  I figure if I am going to save up for one of those big, fancy tomes, then I'd best have some good stuff to put in it.

Well, this year I didn't even make it a week of everyday posting. That does not bode well.

Anyway, today I am grateful for holiday weekends. It generally means that there are less people around and thus less jerks for me to deal with at work ... so, hooray on that point.

And yesterday, I was grateful for ... [livejournal.com profile] wintersdark, again. He came to my work to see me before I was off and waited outside until I got off and then we went out for coffee together. This is a big thing, since he has been working nights the last few months and since I have been working closing shifts we don't really see eachother unless it is in passing. Thus, he stayed up all night and all day so that we could spend most of the holiday weekend together. Isn't that sweet?
