I really need it today.

I am grateful that I have enough money to afford the coffee that spilled on me and stained my new shirt. I am grateful that I can afford to patronize a place that refuses to stock proper cup lids that would stay closed when one is walking back to their car.

I am grateful that it is extra paycheck month, which means that I can go all out for Lughnasad this year (and still afford to catch up on the bills). I am grateful for the break in the heatwave, and I pray that others will find the relief they seek.

I am grateful that I am living in a country where I can safely go outside without fear of death raining from the sky. I am grateful that I have the luxury to debate the issues of war with someone else who has the luxury to debate with me.

Tomorrow I will smile for Lugh's festival and I will toast to health and peace for all who seek it. I will pray that those who do not will remember that there is more to life than being right. I will remember the lessons of the Charge, and I will sing the songs of my ancestors.

Blessings of the season on all.
