Does that woman have no shame? I know this is probably old news to most, but I only just found this book while writing up my reviews of her other crap books. Ick.
Anyway, I don't care enough to rant any more than that. Been out working in my garden today, and I'm making tarot/herb bags for my etsy store. Going to be making up another batch of hand cream in the next week or so as well. I just ran out :(
That's really about all. I have been writing a little in my *new* blog. I'll post a link there once I've finished up my first tutorial post so that I can get folks opinions on if it should be integrated with PP or if I should keep them separate. So far, I like Blogger. But Google has a tendency to change things and what they think is intuitive is actually infuriating. We'll see how it goes. If WP had more functionality and were more 3rd party app friendly, then this would even be an issue. Meh.
The End.

Date: 2012-05-01 07:18 pm (UTC)Not so you would notice, no. Gotta remember, this is the same woman who said that she saw nothing wrong with her own kids using magic (as opposed to studying longer and harder,) to get better grades in school. The same woman who, when she attends a ritual at a pagan gathering, requires that the other attendees pay an admission charge for the privilege of attending a ritual at which she is present.
And I've met the woman, under circumstances where she was intriduced as "Janine," and where it was made clear that she was not present in her person as Ye Famous Pagan Author. I'm certain that she loves her kids and is not cruel or abusive to her pets. She just loves the money she gets rather more, and so she becomes whatever she needs to be to meet her one-book-a-year publishing contract with Llewellyn.
She's hardly the only author like that: twenty-odd years ago, Raven Grimassi was publicly dismissive of Wicca versus stregheria, because Wicca was only a few decades old, and the Italian witchcraft that Raven was practicing had a heritage that went back for centuries. Of course, now that he's writing books about it, Raven thinks Wicca is just fine thankyouverymuch.
When you see something like this, always look to see who's making money, and what they had to do to get it.
Then go have a stiff shot of something strongly alcoholic...
