With an idea ruthlessly stolen from
zahirahblue, I have decided that my lovely new laptop needs a name. Problem is, I am blank on this one. No coffee = no ideas.
Does anyone out there have any ideas that they would like to donate to the cause of 'Name Phae's laptop'?

Date: 2007-07-06 07:41 am (UTC)I needs a bit more memory to make it run better, but that shouldn't be a big problem. I didn't realize how accurate that Mac commercial about Vista was. I couldn't handle that 'Cancel or Allow?' crap for more than an hour.
I do love the gadgets, though, they are very cute. Maybe I need some more time to get to know my little 'puter. Something will come to me ... hopefully.

Date: 2007-07-06 01:35 pm (UTC)1. Open Control Panel.
2. Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".
3. Click on the user account you want to change.
4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
5. Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.
6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
7. Reboot
If you need to turn it back on (I've run into a few programs that need to have it on to run a utility or something), just re-select that UAC checkbox and reboot.
Isobel is running Vista. There are some things I really like about it. And other things that make me want to chuck it through the window. TechRepublic has a lot about customizing Vista and getting rid of some of the more annoying bits. (I've got Isobel tweaked all sorts of ways so that it's tolerable for me to be on her hours and hours at a time. I wish they'd just let me develop on a Mac.)
