Gratitudey

1) I am grateful for the rain.  The whole world smells good!  We have already had out first thunderstorm, and it is time for warm sweaters and rain jackets. 

2) I am grateful that I live in the Pacific Northwest.  I love everything about it.  Even the cliched parts.  Coffee, sweaters, liberalism, grunge.  I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

3) I am grateful that Binx has mellowed in his old age.  He let me bathe him without a fuss, and even purred while I used the blow dryer to dry his fur.  And he didn't act like a spoiled grouch afterward.  He purred and let me pet him without punishment for daring to put him in the bathtub (I think he secretly liked it).

NaNo Planning

I have a couple of ideas for NaNo this year.  I could, if I didn't want to start a new story, finish up Hair of the Dog.  I also thought that I would take a bash at filling out the Leona story.  Not sure where that story could go, but I kind of like that for a NaNo story.  I think the combination of the pressure and the open ended story can make for some wicked creativity spurts.  I could also take a bash at writing my Ghost Hunting story. 

What I am still having trouble with is finding an idea for a short story to enter in to the CBC contest.  I would like to try and get a collection of shorts together so that I can start submitting stuff to local magazines.  I am hoping that the fall season gives me some inspiration.  Maybe this weird, drifting feeling will be good for something this year ;)
