The weirdest thing happened to me last night. My toybox came back to me.
First, a little background ... I first got this toybox when I was about three years old or so. I am a bit of a packrat, so I had it right through until we were getting ready to move out of our Surrey apartment (about four years ago now). We were moving, so the less stuff I had to deal with the better.
I was 22, had no kids, wasn't looking to have any, so I figured that I would leave it for someone else to enjoy.
Last night as I was coming in from work (being mildly pissy that I had to park so freaking far away that I had to come in the back door of the building), I saw a toybox that looked just like mine. That was actually my first thought - "Hey, I used to have a toybox just like that when I was little". Then I looked closer.
It had a few new stickers, and was a bit more faded than I remember, but it was the same toybox. I recognized the Cinderella stickers that I had put on it when I was about ten and then tried to scrape off when I was about twelve. I figured that that was just to creepy to let pass, so I went upstairs, and made
wintersdark come back down and help me carry it up.
It now sits in my living room waiting for a good sticker stripping and a new coat of paint. I think I am going to turn it into my altar. I can still hardly believe it. It has followed me from two towns away. That has to mean something ~_^
