Mexico was great! We had so much fun. More on that later with the pictures.

I really needed this vacation. I feel so different even after only a week. I missed BC and my kitties and my brother and friends. But being away really helped me to put some things into perspective.

I feel refreshed and vibrant in a way that I haven't felt in a really long time. I can see myself and my place a little better now, though I don't think that things will go back to being the way they were before.

I'm a little worn out still from last night's Welcome Home party, so I am gonna write more later.

While we were gone, my little purple egg turned into a big dragon that I have named Violet Beauregard:

Adopt one today!

And I have finally gotten some of my dragons to mate successfully! Here are the new little eggies:

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Nighty night guys - more to come later.

In two weeks, I will be on white sandy beaches, sipping some brightly coloured and heavily alcoholic drink. I am SO excited. This will be my first real vacation as an adult. The first trip I have taken that is more than a road trip.

It's also a bit surreal. I missed a lot of the summer and September flew by in a blink. I feel like I woke up and it was two months later without my noticing. I feel disoriented in general - it's a little like the path I've always followed has become fogged over, and I can barely see the dirt in front of my feet. I am hoping that our holiday will cure that.

Work is good, mostly. But I can't wait to be working freelance and taking photos for a living. The new year will mean a lot of changes for us, I think. I don't know what, but I think we're ready for them.

Aside from silly dragon memes, I have recently become obsessed with old movies. Not classic old, but 70s, 80s and early 90s old. We're watching Evil Dead tonight, and I recently picked up Edward Scissorhands (which is a much more entertaining movie when you are not 10 years old) and the Goonies.

My next few acquisitions will be Short Circuit, the Last Star Fighter and the Monster Squad (and the other Evil Dead movies, of course).

Not much else to say - other than Click the Babies!

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Hi All -

I guess this is an update of sorts. I haven't really been doing much other than working, sleeping and taking pictures. WD and I just booked a trip to Mexico, so I am looking forward to a long overdue holiday.

I think that we have pretty much decided to spend some time travelling over the next few years. The plan, such that it is, is to head to Europe and Britain next June. Past that, I am continuing with school, and getting a photography business set up.

I am feeling somewhat adrift again. My most recent tarot spread was a three card spread and showed the 6 of Swords, the Devil and the Ace of Pentacles.

Seems somewhat portentous to me at this point - though, I'm not really sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

I do know that I've got to start swimming again.  I haven't had any kind of energy lately.  I feel like I am always exhausted.  It's true what they say about sleep - you can never really catch up.  Once it's gone, it's gone.

I'm really looking forward to our holiday.  If for no other reason than because I will actually be able to rest with nothing to worry about.  I am going to try and make sure that we don't plan too many activities.  Our last holiday ended with us being more tired when we got back than before we went.  I don't know if I could handle that happening again.

I'm letting a lot of things slide right now.  Cooking, magic, LJ, etc.  I know that I can't keep up with everything right now.  I've been spread too thin for too long.

I think that there are some changes coming (besides governmental and economical upsets) - I'm just hanging on for the ride.

That's about it for me.  I do try to read LJ every other day or so, but beyond Twitter, I know that there hasn't been much noise from me.  I aten't dead ;)
