We picked up our Christmas tree today. In honour of last year's tree, we have named him George Jr. He is a beautiful blue tinted Italian Stone Pine (though, I had no idea that they had pine trees in Italy), and he is in a two gallon pot, so he is about two and a half feet tall.
I plan on picking up some new George-sized decorations this year. I will need a topper ... I think that Canadian Tire may have some woven wooden stars that should be light enough (he is too small to support the angel). I have already picked up a sparkly silver and irridescent beaded garland for him.
We have a big tv this year, so I am not sure where I am going to put him. I am sure I will find someplace (even if he has to sit on top of the deep freeze). I am so excited! I think that this is the earliest I have ever gotten my Christmas tree before. Unfortunately, though since the snow and cold came early, decorations and such are selling out fast. I guess it is just something about white winters that make people feel Christmasy.
