Well, it was actually a skytrain/bus station ... so that means lots of people. It was hard. Wearing my headphones, and having the MP3 player playing helped drown out the sounds a little. I could achieve the state of calm, but I couldn't maintain it or focus on much of anything. The smell of cigarette smoke was most often the thing that shot me back into myself. Or the jangle of keys, scuffing of feet, talking, whatever. People! LOL
I seem to remember Jet saying that her students learned to meditate at the airport at Christmas, so I guess I just need more practice. It is kind of hard because even when I am alone, the one thing that always breaks my concentration is when someone else is near. I might not see them or hear them, but I know they are there (and then I start to listen for them, so I do hear them). Ah, well. I didn't expect to get it the first time anyway.
