Singing in the Shower

I cannot be the only person in the world who doesn't sing in the shower.  People ask me, "So, what you just stand there in silence?", and I'm like, "Well, yeah.  I think in the shower - meditate sometimes, but I've never really felt the urge to sing."  We talk about werid things at work.

So, are you a singer?  Am I just a freak?

I used to when I was young, but stopped after I learned (much to my embarrassment) that the entire household could hear me. I'm usually lost in thought while I shower so I don't think you're a freak. :)

LoL - thanks :) Sometimes I wonder if it is weird that I can spend a whole day with no background noise at all. No music playing, no tv. My thoughts are loud enough! ;) A lot of times, I don't even notice I am sitting in total silence.

I usually only sing if there is music and since there is no music in the bathroom - I don't sing in the shower. You know I never really thought about it.

I usually shower first thing after getting out of bed. During my shower I am planning my day and trying to wake up... My brain is not sufficiently engaged to sing in the shower.

I don't think you are a freak.. ;-)

Yeah, me too. I'm not always really sure what I think about when I am in the shower ... sometimes I just use the time to wake up. That is why I started using the time to meditate. It helps to jump-start a sleepy mind ;)

I sing wherever I am, if I feel like singing. So yes, I sometimes sing in the shower. Often I'm just thinking. Sometimes I think things out or ponder deep thoughts, but usually it's just: "first, I wash my face. Scrubscrubscrub. Then my hair, scrubscrubscrub.Then my body, scrubscrubscrub. Mmmm. that smells good. Okay, all done!"

I never sing in the shower, in no little part because the volume control on my voice doesn't go down very far past "Loud." And because the shower we have at present has no resonance to speak of.

OTOH, in one barracks I lived in when I was a soldier on active service, several of the toilet stalls had specific resonant frequencies.

I do my best thinking in the shower, but I'm silent. And I take LONG showers!

I usually think in the shower. I do a cleansing meditation and think about whats need to be done.
