Is It Illegal to Send Alcohol in the Mail?

I need  a bottle of Blavod black vodka for Halloween!  Unfortunately, the liquor store in BC doesn't carry it anymore, and the only way they will order it in is if I want to buy a whole case. 

So, it looks like I have two options:  I can 1) take a trip down to Seattle to see if I can find a liquor store that carries it there.  Or, I can 2) find someway to get it shipped to me.

I have already emailed the company in the hopes that I can get them to send me a bottle directly, but I don't have my hopes up really high.  I wonder if an American liquor store would ship me a bottle?

I refuse to be thwarted this year!  I will have my black vodka!  Grrr!

It should not be illegal to mail alcohol, especially from a vendor or liquor store. People ship bottles of wine for the holidays.

Search for Blavod and it will return the liquor stores which stock it -- and their address/phone numbers.
