Ok, lately my fingernails have been giving me hell.  I usually only have a couple of problem nails, but now all of them are breaking and splitting.  I moisturize them everyday, but that isn't helping.  I have them painted with a clear 'strengthening' polish, but that hasn't done much for me either.

Does this happen to anyone else?  Any ideas for making my nails stronger?

Start including jello or a gelatin-based product in your menu. I had that problem a few years ago, so I started making jello once a week and eating it occasionally. It really helped out! Good for your hair, too :)

Perhaps you're not eating well? Nails are one of the first signs for that. More veggies, more dairy. In a couple of weeks, they'll be as good as new...

You might also want to look into a multi vitamin. Despite my best efforts I don't always eat as healthy as I'd like plus I have hypothalamus disease which makes me watch what I do eat. LOL Once I incorporated a multi vitamin in my diet (okay it was ay my doctor's prompting) I noticed my hair and nails getting healthier too. Just a suggestion. :)

All of the advice you've gotten is sound.

I do eat right, take my vitamins, get ample of everything needed to create gorgeous nails and hair. Well, it works for my hair, not for my naturally thin, brittle, icky nails, so I get acrylics done every couple of weeks.

Yeah, I know. Not what you wanted. :D
