All Is Good

Sort of. I can't seem to get the NaNo page to load, which kind of sucks, but the good news is that it only took me three hours to reach today's goal. According to Word, I am at 2106 words. And now I am going to play video games.

I will probably write some more later today (since it is flowing fairly well so far ... even after my cable debacle), but if I don't, then no problem. This structured writing thing might be the way to go for me. No more 'I should do some writing today'. Instead it is a 'I need to write *this many* words today, and then my work is done and I can play.' That has got to be more productive.

Maybe I do have it in me to be a novelist after all. Or maybe this is just beginner's luck :P Time will tell, I suppose. I am even kind of glad that I am relegated back to the bus (via the car issues). Now I have time on my commute to get more writing in while I am on my way to and from work.

The Nano site usually gets pretty bogged down the first day or two of November while they get the loads figured out.

I'm working on mine. I did about 750 words at Starbucks today at lunch, and then 350 now at home. Now I'm setting the timer and giving myself 15 minutes to play, then 15 minutes to work. I'm at 1159 at the moment.

Yeah, I've noticed. I got it to load the mainpage. I am going to be stubborn and keep at it until I can upload my word count for the day.

Over all, I am super excited again. I love the idea that all my friends (well, most of my friends) are doing this with me :)

I've only got 200 words, but I've been too unfocused to really sit and write -- I just have a snatch of dialogue and a brief description. I plan on taking the lap top upstairs where I don't have a good signal to the wireless, so that I will really write, instead of goofing off on-line.

I'm so distractable that it's scary.

The best times for me to write are in the evening and the morning, so I suspect that I'll have my big "wow, I'm writing a book" gush of words tomorrow morning.

I know what that's like. I think that is why the only way that I will succeed at this is if I don't deny myself anything while I am writing.

Yesterday, after I hit my total, I played video games, made dinner and even read my book a bit before I went to bed. Much the same as any other day, except I spent a bit of it writing.

I got 2800 yesterday. Low for me, but that's what happens when I work on three projects at once. oh, my brain!!

I've listened to Ierne's accounts of it the last few years and let her drag me in this year. But it could be my usual daily writing you're hearing in there. :P
