With the success of my new honey scented candle (I used the beeswax that came with my last jar of honey), I have decided to use some of the candle leavin's that I have collected over the last year or so, and try my hand at tapers.

I don't have a tall enough metal container, so I have improvised and used an old washed out wine bottle. It seems to be working fairly well. I am all kinds of impressed with myself. Hopefully, within the next few days, I will have a nice set of hand-dipped pumpkin spice scented tapers.

I love making candles. It has really been a long time, but since one of our local craft stores was going out of business (the entire chain is closing down, apparently), I managed to get 20lbs of wax for about $10. Add that to all of the candle leavin's (I make pillars, so there is always something left), I have lots to keep me busy for the next while.

I am thinking that on payday I will pick up some beeswax bricks for scent, and some more white for lighter colors.

I may not have gotten two days off in a row this week, but I am thoroughly enjoying today just the same ^_^

ps - I wrote to LJ yesterday to complain about my preview window ... and it is now fixed! Yay!
