... from the JWs!

I have lived in an apartment building for MANY years now. And when I got home today, I checked my mail (in the hopes that customs would see fit to FINALLY release my book!) and found a hand written envelope. Inside was a bible tract and a letter from the local JWs looking for recruits.

I mean, it is one thing for them to come knocking on doors. I have come to accept that, but spamming my mail as well??? What's next, phone calls??

Eep!

"JWs" really looks much too similar to "Jews."

Every time I look at this I freak out for a second. ;P

If it wasn't sent through the U.S. mail system, it's illegal to drop it in a mailbox. (But probably not worth hassling over.)

I like contact with the JWs. They're fun. Easy to confound, if you know the right bible verses. Their conversion processes are best suited to other Christians, and the mild agnostics that America is so full of. They've got some stuff for atheists, but it won't work on the very solid ones. They've got some arguments for Buddhists... sort of... and some for Muslims & Jews--but they are absolutely flabbergasted by polytheism.

They've got no coherent answer for "why should I believe that your god isn't just one among many, and that he's claiming some of the actions done by some of the other ones?" They are upset by people who are willing to accept that *some* of the bible is true (i.e. the history), but don't consider that proof that the whole thing is true.

But if it really bugs you, contact your post office; tell them a religious group is dropping unposted letters in mailboxes.

We have a perimeter defense (or is that de-fence) at my house. We put up a fence last year and on the weekends my DH lets the doggies (2 dobe's) have run of the front and back yard. Funny I haven't had anyone knocking on my door on the weekends anymore! It is very nice to sleep on the weekends.

I think that bulk mail rate is cheaper than the regular rate, which could be why they are sending stuff through the mail.
