Elemental Study

Well, I finally decided to do it! I am going to immerse myself in each element in turn for a period of one month (I think), in order to better my connection and understanding of them. The tough part will be picking which element to start with.

I was thinking that I could start with air (my element), and maybe work on my asthma, learn to play a musical instrument, something like that ... but I am also thinking that perhaps I should start with an element that I don't relate to very well ... like fire or earth.

The fact that it is already mid-summer is a factor in my thinking ... but, it really isn't very summery around here right now. There are beautiful flowers and fruits everywhere (I have peas and strawberries in my patio garden), but it is cloudy and a little chilly most days.

I will have to think on it a little more ... I am really getting back into sewing and making myself a bunch of new clothes ... maybe an insight will come to me while I am working ... or maybe a tarot draw is in order. Decisions ... decisions ...

I might do that ... water ... autumn ... harvest ... storms ... it would be a good excuse to make a new blue flowey skirt ~_^

I did West first and it was easy for me. Then I did North, and for as connected as I feel to nature on the "beauty and awe" factor of it it was a harder connection for than water. Now, I'm East. I'm doing in my coven and we do it for the length of 2 sabbats, same as in the open CUUPs group, where others are doing it. It's quite a deepening experience for me.

Lovely invocation ... it got sunny again today, and I have NEVER wanted so badly to be at the beach ... so I think that water it is ... I think I have also decided to go widdershins and do fire after water ... get the last bit of hot hot summer in there, and I figure that October is a pretty good month for earth ~_^

That's a wonderful idea, going widdershins to catch the seasons that way! I don't think I would have thought of that. :-)
