... this dream didn't seem like much when I had it, but the fact that it won't go away seems significant to me. Two nights ago, I dreamt of the hawk.

Last year, before I reached out to Artemis, I had recurring dreams where a hawk would visit, and I had moments in my waking life when I could hear one screaming in my mind.

I assumed that when I acknowledged Artemis, and the dreams of Callisto, the hawk, and the bear subsided, that that is what it had been.

My most recent dream was of a beautiful golden hawk as my companion. I was with a group of people (my tribe?), and we were travelling to some event somewhere. I remember standing in a forest on a hilltop looking down into a tree camouflaged valley. We needed to know if there was anything waiting for us down there.

The hawk sat perched on my hand, and I tried three times to send him down to the valley. He flapped his wings, but would not release my hand. I knew he was afraid. I tried to comfort him, stroking his feathers and assuring him that I would still be here when he returned, but he did not understand.

I called to Cerridwen to help me (I actually called her by name). She came and placed a hand on my brow, and a hand on the head of my hawk, and we were linked. He knew my thoughts and I knew his.

He was finally confident enough to leave my side, and as he flew over the valley, I saw through his eyes, and felt the wind press against his body.

That is all I remember.

I have only had the dream once, but I am getting flashes of it as I read, and sometimes when I am just sitting in the quiet. I am wondering if perhaps I was wrong in thinking Artemis sent the hawk. I still don't know what Artemis wants with me, and now I am wondering if Cerridwen has a message as well.

I am confused.
