I Can Has Noo Kamra!

Yay!  We finally went and picked up my new camera for my course - and it is WAY awesome!  I ended up going with the Nikon D80 SLR Digital.  We were shopping around and found that our local London Drugs has a pretty good deal on them, and then as we were walking by, we saw that the little local no name camera shop was also having a special.  Being me, I prefer to support small businesses when I can, so we elected for the smaller shop.

And I am so glad that we did.  The guy we talked to managed to get me two lenses for the same price as the advertised lens.  So, rather than just get the 18 - 135 mm lens, I got the 18 - 55mm and the 70 - 300mm - it is SO cool being able to see so far.  I can take clear pictures of the license plates of the cars driving along a block away (and up the hill - otherwise, it would be difficult to see that street.

I love my new camera!  We are going out today to take pictures - probably to the beach - Yay!

I'll post some pictures once I have something other than extreme close-ups of my cat and garden :P

YAY!!! I can't wait to see your photos - you are quite talented and I am envious. I am a "point and shoot" kind of person.

I love extreme close ups of cats. I have one of Bilbo that is quite nice. He looks so sophisticated, not like himself at all.

Binx looks startled in one and mildly annoyed in the other. We did see a couple of people doing sand art for the solstice, and I got some great pictures of that :)
