While trying to catch up on my PBP writing, I came across the whole PantheaCon kerfuffle, and I have been reading everyone's opinion on what happened and who's right and what should be done and who gets to decide, etc etc etc.  I have discovered along the way that the language seems to have changed quite a bit since I was last very active in online discussion.

Specifically the cis- prefix (which I did manage to figure out on my own) and the fact that LGBT got longer.  I get the 'I' for Intersexed, but Q?  I am assuming this standing for Queer.  This one I don't really understand.  Queer is different from LGBTI?  I'm not a part of this community, so I'm kind of confused.

I'm hoping that someone can explain it to me.

Thanks in advance :)
