I know I am behind again, but a last minute trip to the island for a funeral has kept me from a computer for the last few days. So ... lesse how many I need to catch up again ...
First -
I am grateful for WintersDark having an understanding boss ... after having $50 stolen from his wallet at work and needing three days off to be with his family after his aunt suddenly dying ... even after the HR department told him he couldn't have an advance or bereavement leave to go to the funeral ... his boss loaned him money from his OWN pocket and told him to take the time off and be with his family. A very good man, Winter's boss.
Second -
I am grateful for cell phones. After nearly a year I managed to get a hold of my best friend because she hadn't changed her cell phone number. I have been thinking of her a lot lately and after a little nudge from the universe I gave her a call and found out that she had been searching for me for 10 months ... she had a baby! I am so excited to have reconnected with someone I have known and loved for more than ten years.
Third -
I am grateful for having friends who have 'been there, done that'. As it turns out, we may not have to get rid of the car in order for me to get a student loan after all. I am a little miffed that I have wasted two years thinking that I had to find some way to get out of this lease, but I am SO grateful to find out that I can actually have my dream without so much sacrifice.
Fourth -
I am grateful that our local Pagan Pride seems to be a go and that it will be held just a few blocks from my house! Yay!
And now that I am caught up ... for today ...
I am grateful to be working the closing shift tonight so that I have some time to myself and the ability to get caught up and relax before jumping back into my regular life.
