1) Tell you why I friended you
2) Associate you with a song/movie
3) Tell a random fact about you
4) Tell a first memory about you
5) Associate you with an animal/fruit
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you
7) In return, you MUST spread this disease in your LJ

Date: 2007-01-25 10:29 pm (UTC)2) Is it too easy if I say Harry Potter?
3) It was your mood theme that first introduced me to Queen of Wands ;)
4) Oh, I have no idea ... it has been so long now. I honestly don't remember very many specifics about TT. I do remember really liking your posts about creating your ren-faire dress.
5) An animal or a fruit? How about an apricot? lol
6) What exactly is your job? I am sure that you have told me before, but as we all know I have the memory retention of a gnat :P I know it has something to do with nursing, but not a nurse specifically, right?

Date: 2007-01-25 10:42 pm (UTC)2) Not really a song, but more of a singer/music style - Paula Cole and girl music from the late nineties.
3) You look great in a tuque ;)
4) I think that the first memory was over in FMPPHs ... the post was a big long rant about I don't really remember what. You always seemed to be very even handed - even when everyone else was flying off the handle.
5) kittens ... ebil ones with their ebil cute
6) Have you always wanted to be a teacher or was it something you just kind of fell into?

Date: 2007-01-25 11:10 pm (UTC)3)Really? Cool!
5)I do like apricots. You're the first person I've seen go for the fruit option.
6)Part of the confusion stems from the fact I have way too many jobs.
First we have the part-time job where I'm a case manager in a psychosocial rehab agency. Translation: I help mentally ill people try to stay out of the hospital and function in society. A big part of that is monitoring people taking their meds, arranging and transporting to medical and psych appointments, and skills training (stuff like how to plan a grocery list, how to clean your apartment, lots of things in the "do as I say don't do as I do" category, actually).
Next we have the hospital job where I'm a patient care tech aka nurse's aide. That's a per diem job where I pick up a shift roughly every other Saturday evening.
Job #3 is math and chemistry tutor at the college where I'm currently taking prerequisite courses so I can apply to the nursing program, but that one causes much less confusion than the other two. :-)

Date: 2007-01-26 06:34 pm (UTC)2) Not really a song, but drumming. The pulsing sound of a group of drummers makes me think of you.
3) I love reading your QOTD posts. They are always so insightful.
4) Ok, I suck at this first memory thing ... umm, I think you were involved in that first initiate v non-initiate discussion that I dove face-first into when I first showed up at TT.
5) That cool tribal crow from your lj icon. That one is so unique, it will always be tied to you in my mind ;)
6) Are any of your essays or anything published anywhere? I have always kind of wondered.
Re: I wanna turn too
Date: 2007-01-26 06:50 pm (UTC)2) Everywhere by Michelle Branch ... it may be that that is just the song I have stuck in my head, but it is what I am getting ;)
3) I love that headsmashing image you have in your PW sig
4) Aw, I suck at these! First memory ... umm, well, I remember that you took very well to our little community during its growing pains. You were one of the ones who seemed to fit right in from the start ;)
5) little yellow baby chicks. I don't know why.
6) How did you first find your way to PW?

Date: 2007-01-26 07:05 pm (UTC)3) Hmm. I guess I should do that a little more often... it's been awhile...
5) It is unique... it was designed specifically for me, and every element of it has layers of meaning - both for me personally, and within my Craft family. It's also the tattoo I have on the inside of my left forearm.
6) I think there are a couple of rants floating around on the web, and there's a handful on the Home Circle website (homecircle.org). I have one piece in WitchEye #11. (And may have a couple more there in the future.) Other than that, most of it has been written for private "Family" journals and the like.
I may write a bit more "generally" at some point... but I'm not really sure what I want to write about that would really 'work' for most folks. A lot of my Craft doesn't have much in common with what most folks seem to want to deal with.

Date: 2007-01-26 08:46 pm (UTC)1) I like to keep track of folks I know ;) I can't remember if I knew you before PW or not ... I guess I have been there an obscenely long time too.
2) The Mummers Song by Great Big Sea
3) I admire your determination in dealing with the vandals in your neighborhood. You have stuck it out a lot longer than a lot of people would.
4) Seriously, anything that is more than two years old is only flashes of image ;) I need to take some ginko or something.
5) Pomegranite ;)
6) What made you want to become a teacher? oh! And do you really wear your hair in pigtails?

Date: 2007-01-26 08:53 pm (UTC)6)I love Biology... I wanted to share that. I really, really enjoy teaching and I am so glad I did go this way. When I was younger I wanted to be a vet, but working with cows was kind of scary, so I thought hard and decided teaching. My aunt is an art teacher and she had such passion and drive and I wanted to feel that. And I do. =)
I do wear my hair in piggie tails. I swear I do. I'll find some proof, I have a kids picture somewhere showing variation and they've used me as an example and I'm wearing piggie tails! =)

Re: I wanna turn too
Date: 2007-01-26 11:24 pm (UTC)Honestly I cannot remember what exactly sent me into PW. I started out looking for reasons for my daughters death, or some sort of "religious" explanation that would make me feel better...and just, stumbled into it. I'm very happy I did though.

Date: 2007-01-27 07:48 am (UTC)Both, sort of. I wanted to be a teacher when I was younger, then fell into it because a. I am bossy, and b. I couldn't think of anything I wanted to do mor. It took me nearly a decade, but I finally found my niche, and i absolutely LOVE my job.
