I am currently re-reading (and doing some minor editing), of the middle sections of my novel (mostly to just refamiliarize myself with the story). I am currently going through one of the very first sections I wrote, back when I was 17 or 18, and boy does it show! I wouldn't have thought that it made such a difference (considering that I haven't gone back to school or taken any further English/Creative Writing/Whatever courses in that time), but I am finding myself re-writing most of this section.
My biggest gripe is that I was so bloody wordy. Every few minutes I have to stop and divide one long, convoluted sentance into two or three shorter ones. There is a lot of this section that I am having to rewrite. Hopefully, it will all be worth it.
Ah well, back to the grind ...
